-Grandma Checketts-

Monday April 4, 2011 I found out that my cute great-grandma was not doing so well and they had given her one to two weeks left. I planned to go see her on Friday (my day off) but got a feeling that I better go as soon as I could. So I took Madi and we went to visit her for our last time on Wednesday. The entire ride there I coached Madi so she would know what to expect, that grandma was not going to be like she normally was, that she would just be "sleeping". I am so grateful that I went to visit her after a long day at work instead of waiting until my day off because Friday afternoon I received the phone call that she had passed. We spent a lot of time over the weekend at my grandparents house to plan the funeral, look through her scrapbooks and pictures and to just spend time together as a family. The viewing was held Tuesday, April 12 and the funeral Wednesday. I got the opportunity to decorate the viewing with pictures of my grandma and some of her cute little nick nacks. Me and my mom made the video that played, I loved looking through all of her stuff, especially from her childhood. Everything went great, the talks were wonderful and the service was a wonderful celebration of her life. I am so happy to have the gospel in my life and know that my grandma is with family and friends that have passed on before her. There were so many people on the other side of the family that are not members and were just devastated. All of us cousins were having a good time, we were laughing and having fun knowing that we will see our grandma again someday. That was proof to me how the gospel helps comfort you. I am grateful for my family and how we pull together when we have hard times, unlike so many other families that fall to pieces and start fighting. I have the best examples in my Grandma and Grandpa Edwards, they are the cutest people I know and would do absolutely anything for any one of us, because they love us. I will always remember my great-grandma as a sweet, kind, caring person who always knew what I was up to, always asked how dance was going, and always wanted to be a part of my life. Every time you went to her house she made sure you had something to eat, drink, and that you left with a treat. She was an example to us all and will be greatly missed!

Wow it has been forever!

I am not very good at keeping this updated. So here is goes: A couple of weeks before Christmas, I got stranded on the side of the freeway on my way to work in a snow storm. Long story short: Me and Jeremy had had it with my little piece of trash car, so we sold it and bought a new one! So much less stress now! Christmas was wonderful!! We had a great time with our family and the wonderful holiday season. Right after Christmas we left for Orlando for 12 days. It was so amazing to have a vacation. It was also my first time to DisneyWorld!! I had so much fun with my husband and in laws. Since then it has just been back to work, school and real life. I went to a Jazz game (before they completely blew up) with Madi and Lindsey. Me, my mom and sisters also went to Logan to go to a basketball game with Jessi. It was a very fun game!! Jeremy is doing an internship right now that he has to do for school at Staker and Parsons, he is really enjoying it and we are both really hoping that this turns into a new job when he is done. He is doing great with school, he is so smart!! I am so grateful that he is working so hard right now to make our life in the future that much better for us and our future children. As for me I am still loving my job as crazy and chaotic as it can get,  I work with the best people and I am very happy to have found a doctors office like that to work for. I am just posting lots of picks from Christmas on. Enjoy!!

Christmas Decorating

I absolutley LOVE putting my Christmas decorations up! The feeling that is in my house when the lights are out and the tree and garland are lit up.... AMAZING.  We are all set for Christmas, Thanksgiving was wonderful, we spent our day with lots of family and good food!! Black Friday shopping was an adrenalin rush like always, we got in on lots of sales. Now if I could only get used to this cold... brrrr I am freezing all the time!!

Our tree all lit up

Our garland and stockings (the little one is Jessi's haha )

My center piece

I have really been getting into decorating and center pieces! It is something I have really started to enjoy so this is my centerpiece for my table. You cant see it very well but glitter is my favorite!! So I glittered up the pine cones! I hope you all have a safe and happy holiday!

-Quick Update-

I am such a horrible blogger. Time just keeps flying by! I just had my birthday, another year older... My family and friends made it a great one though. Halloween was great, not as exciting when you are old with no children yet. I just thought I would post a quick little update, we are doing great, I am working all the time, Jeremy is working and trying to finish this semester without going crazy. We are busy but we are happy with our life right now! We are now just trying to get ready for the holiday season, I cant believe it is here already, I love it! I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!! Enjoy the cold :)

Fall!!!

The trailer Jeremy drives around on weekends.
Driving to Provo :)
Waiting for the gates to open so we can get to our seats!

On the weekends Jeremy drives a Ford truck and trailer around to different events for advertising. Usually they are not too far from home and I just stay home but this last weekend they needed the trailer in Provo for the BYU game, so I got to come along! The company bought tickets for us so we had something to do while they did their thing. It was HOT but a lot of fun. I had never been to a football game besides high school ones so I was pretty excited! To bad BYU is not very good (sorry to all you fans out there) but it was still fun to be there in that football atmosphere! I even bought a $5 shirt to irritate Jessi, who said she would burn it as soon as she gets home.
Fall is my all time favorite season! I love decorating my house for it and I love the weather, the colors of the trees, the holidays, football, and it might help that my birthday is in November.  It is just an all around awesome season and I look forward to it every summer so I am so excited that it is finally here!

September Already?!

Well, I can't believe it is already September. Time just keeps flying! In two weeks we will have been in our house for one year!! The funny thing is I keep moving stuff around, you would think after a year we would be settled in by now... It is so crazy to look back over the last year, so many good things have happened for us. Jeremy is back to school this fall with a very full schedule, and I am now working full time for this doctor in Bountiful. I love my office, the people I work with are awesome and I feel like our company is going to go so far in the near future. It makes me very excited. Foxy is still wild and crazy as always, Jessi went back to school so I spend my nights cleaning, reading.... and that's about it.
We have had all of our camping trips for this year, which makes me so sad...I hate to see camping time go but I LOVE fall, I am so happy when I wake up and it is fresh and chilly outside.
I have gotten a new calling in our ward, I now teach the Sunbeams, they are alot of fun but really good birth control for right now :) Speaking of birth control... it is Labor Day weekend and we are babysitting my two cousins that are 2 & 4... it is amazing how busy they are all the time! They are keeping me and Jeremy on our toes but they are fun to have around. I hope everybody has a good and safe Labor Day Weekend!!

I got hired part time for a doctor in Bountiful and I really like it there!! Now just trying to find another part time job :)  Thanks to my family that came to my graduation ceremony!

Jessi is done with school and is living with us this summer, it is fun having her here!

We had a bbq in our backyard for memorial day, we had good food and played our famous bean bag game. It was a good day and nice weather!!

And last it is almost our one year anniversary, I cant believe how fast this year has gone! It feels like it was just yesterday. I love Jeremy and I am so grateful to have him in my life.
