Back in the Game!

It has been a really long time since I have posted anything but I want to get back into posting mostly because it is my way of journaling! Looking back on the last year I can't believe how much my life has changed. A year ago I was not even half way through my pregnancy and I thought it would never end. I was so excited to have our baby here and to get started on this mothering thing! (I am a very impatient person) Now my baby is 6 months old! I am also planning on posting his birth story so I never forget it, I'll get to that sooner or later I guess. Anyway, Jase is the happiest baby. I don't know what I did to deserve that! He smiles and laughs all the time, he just wants to be sitting up and observing everything around him. He LOVES going out, Wal Mart is pretty much the coolest place ever! So much to see and so many people to watch! It is amazing to me how much you can love your baby, and people said this to me all the time when I was pregnant and it drove me crazy but it is true so I will say it here, you have no idea how much you will love your children until you have your own. So true. I love him. I love watching Jeremy with him. He is such a good dad, and a fun one. I can't wait to see them together when Jase can actually play. I love to see the awe in Jase's eyes. He is amazed by the simplest things, a balloon, Foxy, the TV, his toes wiggling in front of him. Having Jase has given me a better understanding of just how much our Father in Heaven loves us. I feel like my testimony has grown with motherhood. I am truly blessed!

I really have enjoyed taking these monthly pictures, it is so fun to see just how much he has changed!!

.....My Best Friend.....

Two years ago tomorrow Jeremy  and I started our journey together forever! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful, caring, loving, and hard working husband. He works so hard going to school full time and working full time to make sure we have what we need and a little extra for what we want :] I am so blessed and grateful that I fell in love with my best friend and get to spend eternity with him.  I look forward to the day that we bring little lives into our family and home because I know that he will make the best father. I love him more each day and can't wait for many more anniversaries!! I love you Jeremy!!

Finally Nice Weather!

I am was so happy that we had such nice weather this weekend, I was able to get up go for a nice walk with Foxy and Jessi, clean the house, and get our garden started! I am so grateful to have a large enough back yard that we can  even have a garden. It is so nice to grow so many of our own veggies and not have to purchase them, Jeremy makes so many things with his veggies but his most important is his salsa so we have PLENTY of tomatoes and peppers.  We had fun out in the sun, I mostly watched Jeremy do the hard work and Foxy chase the birds :]  But summer is coming (hopefully) and we have some fun vacations coming up, mostly camping but I am still very excited to get away. This week for Memorial Day me, my sisters and my mom are going on a road trip to visit my great grandparents in Colorado, haven't been there since I was in 7th grade, so it should be fun! Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend!

-Grandma Checketts-

Monday April 4, 2011 I found out that my cute great-grandma was not doing so well and they had given her one to two weeks left. I planned to go see her on Friday (my day off) but got a feeling that I better go as soon as I could. So I took Madi and we went to visit her for our last time on Wednesday. The entire ride there I coached Madi so she would know what to expect, that grandma was not going to be like she normally was, that she would just be "sleeping". I am so grateful that I went to visit her after a long day at work instead of waiting until my day off because Friday afternoon I received the phone call that she had passed. We spent a lot of time over the weekend at my grandparents house to plan the funeral, look through her scrapbooks and pictures and to just spend time together as a family. The viewing was held Tuesday, April 12 and the funeral Wednesday. I got the opportunity to decorate the viewing with pictures of my grandma and some of her cute little nick nacks. Me and my mom made the video that played, I loved looking through all of her stuff, especially from her childhood. Everything went great, the talks were wonderful and the service was a wonderful celebration of her life. I am so happy to have the gospel in my life and know that my grandma is with family and friends that have passed on before her. There were so many people on the other side of the family that are not members and were just devastated. All of us cousins were having a good time, we were laughing and having fun knowing that we will see our grandma again someday. That was proof to me how the gospel helps comfort you. I am grateful for my family and how we pull together when we have hard times, unlike so many other families that fall to pieces and start fighting. I have the best examples in my Grandma and Grandpa Edwards, they are the cutest people I know and would do absolutely anything for any one of us, because they love us. I will always remember my great-grandma as a sweet, kind, caring person who always knew what I was up to, always asked how dance was going, and always wanted to be a part of my life. Every time you went to her house she made sure you had something to eat, drink, and that you left with a treat. She was an example to us all and will be greatly missed!

Wow it has been forever!

I am not very good at keeping this updated. So here is goes: A couple of weeks before Christmas, I got stranded on the side of the freeway on my way to work in a snow storm. Long story short: Me and Jeremy had had it with my little piece of trash car, so we sold it and bought a new one! So much less stress now! Christmas was wonderful!! We had a great time with our family and the wonderful holiday season. Right after Christmas we left for Orlando for 12 days. It was so amazing to have a vacation. It was also my first time to DisneyWorld!! I had so much fun with my husband and in laws. Since then it has just been back to work, school and real life. I went to a Jazz game (before they completely blew up) with Madi and Lindsey. Me, my mom and sisters also went to Logan to go to a basketball game with Jessi. It was a very fun game!! Jeremy is doing an internship right now that he has to do for school at Staker and Parsons, he is really enjoying it and we are both really hoping that this turns into a new job when he is done. He is doing great with school, he is so smart!! I am so grateful that he is working so hard right now to make our life in the future that much better for us and our future children. As for me I am still loving my job as crazy and chaotic as it can get,  I work with the best people and I am very happy to have found a doctors office like that to work for. I am just posting lots of picks from Christmas on. Enjoy!!

Christmas Decorating

I absolutley LOVE putting my Christmas decorations up! The feeling that is in my house when the lights are out and the tree and garland are lit up.... AMAZING.  We are all set for Christmas, Thanksgiving was wonderful, we spent our day with lots of family and good food!! Black Friday shopping was an adrenalin rush like always, we got in on lots of sales. Now if I could only get used to this cold... brrrr I am freezing all the time!!

Our tree all lit up

Our garland and stockings (the little one is Jessi's haha )

My center piece

I have really been getting into decorating and center pieces! It is something I have really started to enjoy so this is my centerpiece for my table. You cant see it very well but glitter is my favorite!! So I glittered up the pine cones! I hope you all have a safe and happy holiday!
